Job Description

Job Title: Fiber and Wastewater Operations Supervisor

SUMMARY: Seeking an experienced professional with a paper manufacturing background to oversee fiber receiving wastewater treatment production operations quality control and safety. This position involves direct supervision of hourly shift employees and indirect supervision of offshift personnel. The supervisor will ensure regulatory compliance support operational efficiency and drive safety and quality standards to exceed customer expectations while aligning with company objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and support a team of operations technicians across multiple shifts.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee wastewater treatment operations ensuring adherence to local state and federal water quality regulations.

  • Manage chemical treatment processes including procurement inventory and monitoring of chemical feeds and equipment.

  • Conduct safety quality and mechanical inspections ensuring operational excellence and compliance.

  • Provide technical support for water quality management treatment practices and regulatory compliance.

  • Lead employee engagement by addressing issues recognizing performance and holding staff accountable.

  • Train plant staff on treatment practices environmental initiatives and operational procedures.

  • Monitor and report on water quality issues implementing corrective actions as necessary.

  • Collaborate with maintenance teams for immediate equipment repairs and ensure operational continuity.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor s degree in Paper Science Chemical or Industrial Engineering Business Administration or related field preferred. Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 310 years of supervisory experience in a paper manufacturing environment required.

  • Minimum 24 years of experience in paper fiber operations preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems and regulations.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma 5S).

SKILLS:

  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in training coaching and mentoring.

  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with a focus on root cause analysis (TCC/Trouble Cause Correction).

  • Effective decisionmaking and conflict resolution capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills for all organizational levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively across departments.
