Job Description
Responsibilites:
Gate Operations Coordination: Assist in managing the daily operations of the port gate ensuring the efficient entry and exit of vehicles cargo and personnel while maintaining strict adherence to port security protocols.
Vehicle and Cargo Inspection: Support gate staff in performing inspections of incoming and outgoing vehicles and cargo ensuring compliance with customs and port regulations and checking for any discrepancies.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all gate operations including truck logs entry/exit records and cargo manifests. Assist in updating the port management system with gate activity.
Security Compliance: Ensure all vehicles and cargo passing through the gate comply with security protocols including proper sealing valid permits and customs clearance. Assist in handling any securityrelated issues.
Traffic Management: Assist in coordinating the flow of traffic at the port gate minimizing congestion and ensuring that vehicles move efficiently through the gate area without delays.
Communication with Stakeholders: Coordinate with truck drivers customs officers and internal teams (warehouse logistics etc.) to ensure smooth gate operations and address any operational or security issues that may arise.
Gate Access Control: Monitor the access control system ensuring that only authorized personnel and vehicles are granted entry to the port area. Assist in issuing and verifying gate passes for trucks and personnel.
Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all port gate activities comply with local national and international regulations including customs immigration and health & safety standards.
Reporting and Audits: Assist in preparing daily weekly and monthly reports on gate operations including traffic volume delays and security incidents. Support regular audits of gate operations to ensure compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to gate operations to increase efficiency reduce wait times and enhance overall security measures. Support the implementation of process enhancements.
