Roles and Responsibilities for Credit Balance
Job Description
Identify research and review accounts with credit balances.
Transfer credits when appropriate within a patient or guarantor account.
Post all unposted and misapplied patient payments.
Review and resolve all patient/guarantor address issues.
Initiate patient and insurance refunds.
Maintain accurate medical billing records and document revenue from patient payments
and insurance reimbursements.
Post credit balance adjustment for approved refunds.
Meet production and quality expectations outlined by management.
Balance refund batches according to client guidelines.
