Job Description

 

Turner and Townsend Heery have a need for an onsite Construction Manager to oversee Government Projects for a highprofile government agency.

This role is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with design professionals contractors and administrators to ensure an acceptable product according to contract specifications local and federal codes regulations and district policy.
  • In coordination with the Sr. Construction Manager manages all facets of project management (budget schedule procurement quality & risk) for individual projects including planning design construction occupancy and closeout.
  • Interface directly with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques.
  • Tracks progress of each project against goals objectives approved budgets approved timelines reports status and variances.
  • Managing the change control process in coordination with the Sr. Construction Manager.
  • Implements change management routines to assess change requests make recommendations secure Client approvals and issue change orders in coordination with the Sr. Construction Manager.
  • Assesses change requests to determine impacts to scope budget schedule quality and risk with management support in coordination with the Sr. Construction Manager.
  • Manages the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Quality Control Ensuring compliance with quality standards as defined by Turner & Townsend Heery and the client.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Project Management procedures templates and products referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.
  • Is an integral part of the project delivery resources/team to achieve project goals.
  • Implements communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources informed.
  • Facilitates project meetings when appropriate.
  • Ensures project data integrity and documentation is accurate timely and coordinated.
  • Implements standard risk management routines with management support to identify project risks develop risk mitigation and contingency plans and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.

Qualifications :

 

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong experience with Federal/Government work.
  • Understanding of scheduling and estimating software.
  • Ability to understand Project Management Information Systems.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of design and construction management practices.
  • Ability to independently manage and coordinate multiple construction projects.
  • Ability to eectively communicate (in oral and written form) and to use a computer for email correspondence reports spreadsheets and automated project management systems. Ability to create management reports.
  • Ability to coordinate work with customer departments administration designers other project managers government agencies and other service and support agencies.
  • Ability to manage project finances make and review estimates negotiate contract change orders with A/E firms and contractors and to develop and manage value engineering efforts. Ability to perform contractor and A/E evaluations.
  • Ability to review construction drawings and specifications for constructability.
  • Knowledge of national state and local codes and regulations applicable to the design and construction of facilities.
  • Ability to function in a team oriented environment taking on new tasks with enthusiasm and energy.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate in construction related field trade school or equivalent certification. The requirement can be waived for someone that has 5 years of experience in similar construction management role.
  • Army Corp of Engineers QCM Certification is required.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is required.


Additional Information :

The salary range for this fulltime role is $110K$130K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range depending on candidates experience and qualifications.
