Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Implement and drive the preventative maintenance program.
Perform the role in a hands-on manner by undertaking any repairs and maintenance as required.
Supervision of (but not limited to) electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security control systems, hydraulic services and approved contractor works.
Stock control, supplier management.
Quoting, scheduling and managing of Capex Requests
. Maintenance Planning and Management:
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for facilities, equipment, and machinery.
Prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize disruptions to operations.
Oversee preventative maintenance programs to reduce the risk of equipment failure.
2. Supervision and Team Management:
Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance staff, including technicians and contractors.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure the timely completion of maintenance activities.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability among the maintenance team.
3. Equipment and Facility Management:
Inspect facilities and equipment regularly to identify maintenance needs or potential hazards.
Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other critical systems.
Manage the repair, replacement, or upgrading of equipment as necessary.
4. Budgeting and Resource Management:
Prepare and manage the maintenance department's budget, including labor, materials, and tools.
Source and procure parts, supplies, and equipment cost-effectively.
Maintain accurate inventory records for tools and spare parts.
5. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Develop and enforce safety protocols to protect team members and facility occupants.
Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.


Desired candidate profile

Previous hands-on Maintenance/Facilities Management experience, preferably in a Resort environment;
Proven ability to manage and develop team members;
Experience implementing a preventative maintenance program;
Experience organising, consulting and negotiating with Contractors;
Sound MS Office skills (including Excel spreadsheets and word documents)
A passion for delivering exceptional, pro-active service;
Excellent interpersonal and communications combined with impeccable presentation
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Problem-Solving: Skilled in diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues promptly.
Organizational Skills: Capable of managing schedules, resources, and multiple priorities.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for coordinating with staff, vendors, and management.
