We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate with a strong interest in medical image processing and algorithm development to join our stroke research team. This position focuses on creating innovative image processing tools for head CT imaging with the goal of advancing our understanding of vascular anatomyparticularly vascular tortuosityand performing indepth thrombus analysis. These tools aim to improve mechanical thrombectomy procedures especially for distal occlusions.
Our research includes translational projects leveraging deep learning methods (e.g. convolutional neural networks Vision Transformers) and graph neural networks to enhance stroke care. Specifically we aim to develop advanced image processing techniques for preinterventional medical imaging (e.g. CT) to deliver powerful decisionsupport tools for endovascular stroke treatment.
We offer a unique environment with access to extensive datasets (through strong internal and external collaborations) close interaction with clinicians (ensuring research is clinically relevant) and a robust infrastructure to support the entire development and deployment pipeline for your work.
