Sous Chef
Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in creating and preparing highquality dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily kitchen activities.
- Ensure consistent food quality by adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen adhering to hygiene standards.
- Assist in inventory management and control food costs.
- Participate in menu planning and development.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to ensure best practices.
- Ensure all food safety standards and regulations are followed.
- Assist in the management of kitchen operations including ordering supplies and maintaining kitchen equipment.
- Handle special requests and dietary restrictions effectively.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a culinary position preferably as a Sous Chef or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Desired Experience:
- Experience in a fullservice restaurant or upscale dining establishment.
- Familiarity with various kitchen equipment and culinary techniques.
- Experience in a management or supervisory role within a kitchen is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to create innovative dishes and contribute to menu planning.
