We have developed our own Commodity Trading Risk Management (CTRM) system that covers all aspects of our business activities across the globe: from trade entry through the middleoffice with P&L reporting market risk management credit and accounting down to the invoicing and for whichever commodity we are trading electricity gas coal crude oil LPG or carbon emissions certificates. Vitol is unique in the energy trading world in making our CTRM the core of our business processes that everyone at Vitol works with often on a daily basis.
As a member of the small team that develops and maintains our globally used Accounting application located in Geneva Switzerland you will:
Actively contribute to the development of our core Accounting application that is closely integrated with other parts of our CTRM system and used globally across hundreds of entities within the Vitol Group
Work closely with a range of users from different teams (e.g. Accounting Treasury/Finance Analytics) to identify and prioritize business requirements and propose technical solutions
Develop/maintain new features using C# and .NET technologies as well as PL/SQL
Provide business applications support and training to users on day to day issues
We are working closely with the rest of the CTRM team to cover all the functions of our inhouse system so occasionally you will also be responsible for driving projects which may be as diverse as:
Integration of newly acquired businesses
Interface our Accounting software with external tools e.g. Treasury Management System
Qualifications :
- At least 3 years experience in similar position(s)
- University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent field
- Previous experience with PL/SQL or a similar procedural DB programming language (e.g. TSQL) involvement into business applications change management and daytoday operation and support
- Proven data modelling skills to translate business situations into data structures proficiency in SQL
- Entrepreneurial drive ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Proactive and userfocused make it work mentality with a genuine interest in the functional as well as technical aspects of each challenge encountered
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full proficiency communicating in English in a business context (verbally & in writing)
