Job Description

Looking for experienced  crane operator/material handler.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operates cabcontrolled traveling crane to lift; move position and load s.
  2. Offload material for processing.
  3. Loads s buckets and visually monitor weight of s placed in each bucket when needed.
  4. Responsible for s inspection as it is being loaded.
  5. Manipulates or depresses crane controls such as pedals levers to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
  6. Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
  7. Operates mobile equipment as needed.
  8. Communicates and directs coworkers through twoway radio and hand signals.
  9. Assist maintenance with cleaning on down days.

This position may be responsible for operating other offroad type heavy mobile equipment as necessary.  May also be required to operate crushing and screening equipment.  All work performed in a steel mill environment. Additional duties include but not limited to:

  • Perform and record routine mobile equipment prestart and post inspections
  • Complete required activity reports.
  • Follow all policies and rules of the company and the customer
  • Maintain high level of safety and abide by all safe work requirements.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 3 years experience as a heavy equipment operator.
  • Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
  • Good communications skills and the ability to read operating instructions.
  • Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.
