Job Description
The individual performing the role of Test Manager should have a very strong understanding of appropriate test methodologies and processes and is responsible for planning and managing the execution of testing activities. They must be able to partake in planning testing strategy preparing and reviewing test documentation manage and provide guidance and mentoring to test analysts. At this level the person undertaking the position should have strong communication skills and will be responsible for scheduling testing activities and allocating work to junior staff.
Qualifications :
- Strong experience in software testing and defect tracking.
- Experience in Telco industry is mandatory.
- Experience working on largescale testing projects and multivendor environments.
- Familiarity with a range of defect tracking tools.
- Handson experience testing various systems and technologies.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how testing integrates with other stages.
- Familiarity with various functional and nonfunctional testing activities.
- Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies with the ability to describe their pros and cons.
- Solid knowledge of testing methodologies including black box and white box testing.
- Knowledge of privacy requirements and data masking in testing environments.
- Familiarity with relational databases and virtualization technologies.
- Ability to explain the V Model and how it interacts with testing.
- Understanding of risk and issue management including the distinction between the two.
- Ability to describe Agile software development methods and approaches as well as considerations for testing web services and websites.
