About the Role
As a Clinical Team Leader you will lead and manage the delivery of Primary Health Services to ensure detainees receive high quality services according to need and practices in a way that acknowledges the dignity culture values beliefs and rights of people in detention.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership regarding the provision of care including but not limited assessment of risk in the provision of care within a restrictive environment risks to the detainee others self and organisation.
- Oversee the timely completion of relevant health assessments care planning referrals appointments and accesss to medication outcome measures documentation of progress in the electronic medical record system discharge summaries and other activities as required.
- Provide support and professional development around areas of specialist knowledge to members of relevant clinical teams via training secondary consultation supervision and other appropriate strategies.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain high standards of file management ensuring that accurate notes are recorded file audits completed and all detainee health records are stored in line with legislative requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
- Participate in data collection and evaluation processes that contribute to service improvement.
Qualifications :
Essential Requirements
- General unrestricted registration by AHPRA as Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Relevant Postgraduate qualification
Experience
- Have at least five (5) years of clinical experience with nonTelehealthonly patient treatment as a Registered Nurse in an operational setting that provides care for patients with health needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues in the delivery of primary health services within a complex environment and the ability to understand and apply relevant Commonwealth and State legislation policies standards gudilenes and frameworks to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations.
Desirable
- Experience working within a detention or correctional setting.
