About the job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated person to join our team and help us to be leaders in delivering excellent performance proudly serving happy IKEA customers. Our teams objective is to source  implement followup and develop warehousing and logistics solutions with focus on total supply chain cost whilst fulfilling defined service levels related to logistics capacity operational excellence and sustainability.

 

As a Service Provider Operations Developer you will be responsible for ensuring and improving the operational performance of logistics service providers across various dimensions as outlined by a set of relevant Key Performance Indicators within a defined framework. This role serves as a bridge between our category and internal stakeholders acting as the primary point of contact for operational topics related to our logistics units.  

Additional key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and overseeing the overall operational performance of our logistics service providers in all areas including capacity fulfilment precision quality safety etc. within the assigned region.
  • Implementing the new IKEA transport management system across logistics units and serving as the main point of contact for service provider inquiries.
  • Supporting the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process from an operational standpoint.
  • Preparing for and leading the implementation of new logistics units including facilitating training sessions.
  • Ensuring compliance with agreed Standard Operational Procedures conducting compliance checks and overseeing warehouse operations.
  • Balancing projected capacity needs with optimal capacity based on forecasts and supply chain requirements.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics units supporting our ambitious goals.
  • Together with the Business Developer identifying opportunities to reduce production costs for logistics service providers.
  • Staying updated on the latest innovations in warehousing within the market and apply solutions that enhance value in our operations.
  • Staying informed about logistics market trends industry and innovative developments relevant cost drivers and legal/ regulatory considerations.

 


Qualifications :

About you

We are seeking for a person who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Expertise in the logistics sector including contract logistics warehousing and distribution as well as a strong understanding of marketspecific conditions and macroeconomic trends in the East Asian region.
  • Profound knowledge of supply chain and warehousing fundamentals particularly in understanding main production costs and cost drivers along with strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience with the IKEA Supply Chain including logistics and a proven track record of leading crossfunctional and crosscultural initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the IKEA Transport Management System.
  • Proficient in data analytics with handson experience in leveraging data intelligence to support business decisionmaking and drive improvements.
  • Highly skilled in various tools and applications such as Word Excel Power Point Power BI QSense and more.
  • Excellent communication abilities capable of effectively engaging with audiences in both virtual and inperson settings.
  • Enjoys collaborating with others and is a valuable team player.
  • Selfmotivated with a strong desire and drive to enhance operations consistently seeking better solutions for improvement.
  • Ability to organise structure and prioritise multiple tasks efficiently.
  • An early adopter of change who proactively acts as a change driver.
  • Holds a university degree in logistics economics business administration and possesses equivalent experience in a similar role (minimum of 5 years).
  • Fluent in English with proficiency in both spoken and written forms ensuring clear and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

 

This role is full time and is based in our office in Shanghai China. You will report to the Business Development Manager Contract Logistics.
