Job Description
The work involves several types of tasks:
- Translation of several types of content available in the app: animation texts solver texts why text and hints. Besides translating we expect your feedback about anything not applicable or explained differently in your language.
- Copyediting of texts translated by previous translators.
- Attachment of translated hints to one of the first three types of translated texts (animation solver and why texts).
- Occasional answering of questions from the client about your language.
The first three tasks will be performed in the clients translation tool.
Qualifications :
Requirements:
- A college math degree and familiarity with material from lower elementary grades all the way to college including the following: elementary math algebra geometry trigonometry calculus statistics and additional high school and college math material
- Familiarity with LaTeX
- Nativelevel proficiency in the Spanish of Spain (esES)
- Fluency in English
- Ability to commit 15 hours each week to this project
- Access to a PC with an uptodate version of Chrome
- A personal or business Gmail address
NicetoHaves:
- Experience teaching or tutoring math
- Experience translating math content
Additional Information :
Payment will be issued per correct item. As a guideline the average rates for this work are $0.07 per word translated/copyedited $0.63 per hint attached and $4.40 per question answered. You may propose rates based on that guideline and your experience and skills. No Upwork fees will be deducted from your earnings meaning you will receive the full accepted bid amounts. We will keep track of the work you complete and pay you on a biweekly basis. A milestone will only be used to set the terms of the contract and you will not need to request payments as you will be paid biweekly for work you complete.
The volume of work each week may fluctuate from 015 hours. When the volume is steady we expect a commitment of 15 hours/week. You may work at times when you are available but some of the hours should be during traditional business days (MondayFriday). The upcoming volume will require about 15 hours/week for the first two weeks. After that the volume is expected to be lower and sporadic.
