Job Description
Talent should be experienced at proofreading Castilian Spanish content and have meticulous attention to detail. They should be able to detect and correct grammar spelling and punctuation errors. They should also be able to make corrections that will ensure consistency in the voice and tone of content.
Please note: This is NOT a copyediting job. Proofreaders will generally only correct clear mistakes or outofdate phrasing. They will rarely change the meaning of text (e.g. revise wording change terms) and that will only be done with the permission of the translator or client.
Work will be performed within the clients tool.
Qualifications :
Requirements:
A college degree
Knowledge of the grammar spelling and punctuation rules of Castilian Spanish (esES)
At least 2 years experience proofreading
Some experience proofreading technical materials
Nativelevel proficiency in Castilian Spanish
Fluency in English
Ability to commit about 15 hours each week to this project
Access to a PC with an uptodate version of Chrome
A personal or business Gmail address
NicetoHaves:
Familiarity with math material from lower elementary grades to college including the following: elementary math algebra geometry trigonometry calculus statistics and additional high school and college math material
Experience proofreading math content
Please submit your perword proofreading bid. As a guideline the average rate for this work is $0.019 per word (or $19.00 per 1000 words). You may propose a rate based on that guideline and your experience and skills.. No Upwork fees will be deducted from your earnings meaning you will receive the full amount. We will keep track of the work you complete and pay you on a biweekly basis. Milestones that correspond to weekly assignments will be added to your contract and paid. You will not need to request payments as you will be paid biweekly for work you complete.
Work will start immediately and continue into December and it will require a commitment of at least 15 hours/week. Additional work is expected in 2025. You may work at times when you are available but some of the hours should be during traditional business days (MondayFriday)
