Job Description

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate eager to help leading companies and governments transition to a low carbon sustainable future by delivering custom consulting engagements that enable our clients to navigate this change.

The Consulting Analyst BRM will be a lead consultant within the battery raw materials team focusing on leading and delivering custom consulting and research projects that span the battery raw material and energy storage markets. Specifically you will lead and deliver projects that include tailored market overviews and outlooks feasibility assessments and analysis industry cost modelling and analysis supplychain mapping and material sourcing strategies and other bespoke engagements.

You will be joining a dynamic global team dedicated to understanding the rapidly evolving energy transition and battery raw materials markets. You will leverage Fastmarkets existing BRM data insights and analyst team as an integral component of our consulting delivery.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fastpaced and innovative environment have a cando attitude and can juggle a wide variety of tasks and projects.

Principal accountabilities

  • Scoping executing and project managing a range of BRM and batteryrelated market consultancy projects.
  • Conducting new research and analysing and customising existing data (selfsufficiently and in collaboration with other subjectmatter experts) that is robust accurate and wellresearched.
  • Developing and delivering compelling and impactful highquality content and deliverables with a strong client focus.
  • Ensuring consultancy projects are delivered ontime and inline with both client requirements project scope and profit targets.
  • Supporting and working closely with the sales team in bidding and winning consultancy and subscription engagements.
  • Developing and building existing customer relationships to identify opportunities for repeat and new business
  • Participating in events and sales/marketing activities with a focus on existing and potential client business opportunities.
  • Utilising professional networks to surface opportunities and to source independent contractors to support delivery of engagements.

KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated driven and have a passion to be part of a fastpaced successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

  • 6 years of consulting or related experience in commodities consulting and research.
  • Indepth knowledge of battery market fundamentals and working knowledge of battery raw materials battery chemistries and cells and EV and ESS markets.
  • Ability and experience in managing and conducting commodity market studies both independently and as a member of a globally distributed team.
  • Experience in project execution/management involving singleclient consultancy services work.
  • Experience in project and client relationship management across varying market segments and customer profiles.
  • Strong commercial focus.
  • Fluent in English a second language preferred.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel when required.
  • An already established client and industry contact network would be desirable.
  • Selfstarter with strong personal drive is essential with the ability to thrive in a multitasking environment.
  • Accountable and performance driven.
  • Effective and confident communication in person in written/slide format and online.
  • Effective and amiable team player keen on making clients project members and colleagues happy while achieving ambitious objectives.
