The ideal candidate for a Purchasing Manager would be able to do the following:
Material Availability
- Leverage Oracle ERP to ensure proper material supply is maintained to support production and customer orders. This includes maintaining proper inventory planning parameters for sourced components.
- Collaborate with Materials Management and Suppliers to deploy and execute a plan for every part (PFEP)
Process Optimization Using Oracle:
- Utilize Oracle procurement modules to streamline purchasing processes automate order placements and ensure realtime visibility of inventory and purchasing data.
- Drive system adoption within the team troubleshoot issues and explore Oracle updates to improve efficiency.
Crossfunctional Collaboration:
- Provide daily and weekly updates as needed to Operations and Executive Leadership regarding potential interruptions of supply.
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to implement engineering changes.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination on inventory planning and project timelines.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Use Oracle data to generate reports and analyze product availability and inventory turns.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess procurement efficiency budget adherence and supplier performance and prepare reports for senior management.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and global regulations.
- Oversee documentation within Oracle to maintain accurate records of purchases contracts and supplier agreements.
- Trained in and adheres to the procedures outlined in the TA390 Supply Chain Training Matrix.
Team Leadership:
- Lead mentor and develop a team of purchasing professionals including buyers and procurement coordinators to achieve departmental goals and ensure high performance.
- Provide training and guidance on planning and procurement best practices and Oracle use for efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications :
For a candidate to be successful as a Purchasing Manager they must have:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in purchasing materials management or supply management in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Emphasis in Business Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred.
- Demonstrated experiences in Supply Chain Management. CPSM or APICS certification preferred.
- Proven experience and skillset with ERP systems including Oracle is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills inclusive of all Microsoft Business Suite. Oracle Fusion experience is required.
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret and communicate technical information with a high level of detail and accuracy with internal and external stakeholders.
- Teamoriented professional with strong collaboration networking and communication skills able to effectively drive project execution with internal and external organizations.
