Maintenance technician to look after routine servicing and maintenance of various equipment within Coventry Test Facilities.
Main Tasks of the Job
This will involve completing maintenance tasks as per the existing defined schedule plus liaison with other staff other depts and external service providers where the maintenance is outsourced. Work will be required to perform nonroutine fault and repair finding in the event of any breakdowns and to support continuous improvement projects and upgrade activities as appropriate.
Supporting admin work will also be required and is important to legal and audit compliance maintaining schedules records and reports plus liaising with/managing suppliers contractors and other parties as needed.
Personnel: No direct reports. Responsible for own workload and activities to ensure completion of agreed tasks in cooperation with the responsible Manager for this area.
Resources: To liaise with and/or select suppliers and raise POs as needed for parts & services. Budget to be managed by Test Facilities Manager. To liaise with suppliers as needed and directed.
Planning: Short term planning and control of daytoday workload to ensure completion of all agreed work to time and quality targets. Medium term planning for larger projects especially investigation / improvement / upgrade projects.
Decisions: Day to day decision making regarding workload and priorities.
Supervision
Will be reporting to Facilities Manager in the Powertrain Components & Systems Department.
Contacts
Internal: Work on a daily basis with other Test Facilities staff and engineering staff. Mainly DNUK PCS staff to ensure equipment is operational as and when needed plus GA Dept. for maintenance and H&S issues and occasionally with other internal depts.
External: Occasional contact with other DENSO test facilities in Europe or Japan e.g. periodic safety visits by DENSO Japan. Other (outside DENSO) equipment suppliers H&S / Environmental suppliers for liaison and completion of service work or projects such as equipment upgrade/installation as required.
Working Conditions:
Located in Coventry Test Facilities. Possible occasional travel within UK or EU to visit suppliers / subcontractors and other facilities and for training courses or similar.
Ability to work additional hours as required. Ability to work offsite at customer / DENSO sites when requested.
Qualifications :
Time served apprenticeship in relevant subject; BTEC Level 3 Engineering or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.
