Job Description
The Psychiatric Occupational Therapist will render occupational therapy services to inpatients PHP and IOP patients planning and conducting screening/assessments developing treatment plans delivering or supervising the delivery of treatment intervention and education for the purpose of enhancing insight into disease; directing the patients participation in selected tasks to restore reinforce and enhance the physical and mental performance learning skill development and productivity to improve selfcare cognitive and psychosocial skills and abilities and improve the patients overall functional status in the home/work/community environment and to diminish or correct pathology. The Psychiatric Occupational Therapist will function as a multidisciplinary team member within the hospital/psychiatric units and in interactions with other health care providers. Patients served include AdultGeriatric.
Qualifications :
BS in Occupational Therapy; MS degree preferred. Possesses a current Maryland State license or is eligible. Oneyear recent experience in a clinical psychiatric setting as evidenced by academic training and clinical experience in adult psychiatric is preferred. New graduates with Level II Fieldwork in a psychiatric setting are welcome to apply. Previous experience using a business office suite such as Microsoft required.
