Delivery Driver

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for a responsible Delivery Driver to distribute products promptly to our customers. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
Follow routes and time schedule
Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
Collect payments
Inform customers about new products and services
Complete logs and reports
Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Safe and Timely Delivery of Goods:

Transport goods and packages from one location to another according to the delivery schedule.
Ensure timely delivery of items, meeting customer expectations and deadlines.
Follow the most efficient routes, using GPS systems or maps to minimize delivery time.
Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:

Operate delivery vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle, checking for maintenance issues such as tire pressure, oil levels, and fuel.
Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or issues to supervisors for immediate resolution.
Keep the vehicle clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
Package Handling and Loading:

Ensure that packages are loaded and unloaded safely, following proper lifting techniques to prevent damage or injury.
Verify the contents of each package against delivery documentation before departure.
Organize deliveries in the vehicle to ensure items are easily accessible and delivered in the correct order.
Customer Interaction and Service:

Provide excellent customer service by interacting with customers in a professional, polite, and helpful manner.
Confirm delivery details and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery upon arrival.
Address any questions, concerns, or issues raised by customers during the delivery process.
Handle any returns, exchanges, or damaged items according to company protocols.

Desired candidate profile

Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
Valid professional driver’s license
Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Good driving record with no traffic violations
High school degree
Strong driving skills, with the ability to operate a variety of delivery vehicles, from vans to larger trucks.
Basic vehicle maintenance skills, such as checking fluid levels and ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
Good time management skills to ensure deliveries are made within the scheduled time frame.
Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (depending on the role and vehicle size).
Basic knowledge of geography and the ability to navigate without assistance.
Good problem-solving skills to handle unexpected delivery challenges.
