Newly hired Caseworkers will receive $46689/YR
Newly hired Caseworkers are now eligible to receive a bonus of up to $6000 during a twoyear period between April 2024 to March 2026. Caseworkers hired and onboarded by April 12024 and who remain active on payroll through this period will have the opportunity to earn up to four (4) biannual $1500 bonus payments for a possible maximum of $6000. Criteria are that staff remain on active status during the entirety of each sixmonth period listed here:

*ASSIGNMENT DIFFERENTIAL*
OCSE CASEWORKERS RECEIVE A YEARLY DIFFERNTIAL OF $1540
Under direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor of Correspondence Services with some latitude for independent initiative and judgment the Caseworker functioning as Correspondence Representative will be responsible for documenting personal client interaction in response to Child Support case issues and confidential matters of postorder cases. S/he responds to a high volume of mail and electronic correspondence generated by a variety of common everyday Child Supportrelated issues. (Post order cases are those cases that already have been assigned courtordered child support payments).
The Office of Child Support Services is recruiting (3) Caseworkers to function as Correspondence Representatives:
The Correspondence Representatives will:
Review and analyze the issues presented by the client (custodial or noncustodial parent) through
mail electronic or telephonic interaction/correspondence to determine the problem or concern; and
is required to have a comprehensive and working knowledge of the child support OCSS systems.
Respond to all client inquiry with carefully written detailed casespecific letters explaining the
validity of the issue or concern and the corrective action taken e.g. new information verified/added
or sent to appropriate OCSS unit or resolved third party intervention i.e. another agency.
Utilize the information systems i.e. Automated State Support Enforcement and Tracking System
(ASSETS); Welfare Management System (WMS); plus the Uniform Court Management System
(UCMS) for the purpose of evaluating issues in correspondence and preparing responses/
documents related to them.
Contact clients respondents and third parties i.e. attorneys employers legal and social services
staff of other OCSS units and other government agencies to resolve the clients concerns.
Compare OCSS systems information with the issues identified in the client personal interaction/
correspondence to see if a full search and review are necessary or the complexity proved to be
minor.
Perform appropriate correction/update or documents the need for corrections and forward to the
appropriate unit for action.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university accredited by regional national professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Additional Information: Section 424a of the New York State Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a candidate for employment with childcare responsibilities is or has been the subject of an indicated child abuse and maltreatment report on file with the State Central Register for child abuse and maltreatment. State Central Register screening will be conducted prior to considering a candidate for employment as a Caseworker. Candidates who have been the subject of an indicated child abuse and maltreatment report will not be assigned to any position which requires childcare responsibilities. Employees who have been the subject of such a report may be reassigned or terminated from employment from their positions as Caseworker.
