The Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR) promotes DOHMHs and NYCs ability to prepare for respond to and recover from health emergencies through the coordination of agencywide emergency preparedness planning training and exercises and through regular engagement with communities as well as city state and federal partners. OEPR envisions a healthy resilient city in which all New Yorkers are able to achieve and maintain optimal and equitable health outcomes before during and after emergencies. OEPRs work recognizes the social inequities that can negatively impact our efforts to maintain and improve the health of New Yorkers during and after a disaster. OEPR works to improve its application of a social justice and racial equity lens to its emergency preparedness and response work to ensure the most equitable postdisaster public health outcomes possible.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Manage special projects and support initiatives to enhance streamline and standardize division administrative and fiscal processes.
Update or document processes for various purposes and audiences including to inform the identification and customization of existing and new software tools.
Develop implement and maintain a system for demand management to enhance request intake and fulfillment.
Establish best practices and associated modes of communication for information sharing related to processes instructional guides and policies for various audiences.
Create reporting mechanisms and analyze and summarize data to facilitate decisionmaking track progress establish standardized process timeframes to set expectations and measure progress for performance management.
Document and maintain records of select meetings and followups monitor and track action items and ensure deadlines are met.
Develop and manage surveys or other related materials to gather staff feedback and measure impact of special projects.
Respond to public health emergencies when called upon.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with project management and coordination.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and synthesize information from various sources to identify and create solutions.
Ability to both work in teams and to work and make decisions independently.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Exceptional attention to detail organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with technology and software including Microsoft Suite (Word Excecl Project Teams) Salesforce AirTable Tableau or other similar tools.
Interest in public health and/or healthcare emergency preparedness and response.
