Job Description

Driven by policy regulatory and economics forces the electric supply industry is currently undergoing a rapid transition from conventional thermal resources to renewable generation and energy storage resources. This transition is radically changing market dynamics requiring new and creative analysis to understand energy infrastructure investment and value. PAs experts are at the forefront of modelling and analyzing the ongoing evolution and future of the power sector helping clients understand investment risks and opportunities. 

PAs Global Energy and Utilities team currently seeks a Denverbased consultant with energy analytics quantitative analysis and fundamentals experience to support our work helping energy investor and utility clients effectively navigate diverse and evolving investment and operating environments. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate/ project finance investment banking or restructuring with experience in the energy industry and will have skills in the following areas:

  • Developing financial models conducting due diligence and preparing presentations
    • Candidate will ideally be able to develop threestatement financial models 13week cash flow analyses understand Chapter 11 processes and complete asset valuations. Knowledge of tax equity is preferred but not required.
  • Managing client relationships and working closely with members across the team
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry trends including policy and regulation

Qualifications :

Responsibilities:

  • Support the daytoday activities of PAs Energy and Utilities team on engagements
  • Execute multiple tasks across a consulting engagement including modeling and client presentations
  • Utilize business finance accounting and analytical skills to perform tasks including: 13week cash flow models 3statement models and proforma scenario models
  • Assist in preparation of reports written analyses presentations and other client deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or degree equivalent in Business Accounting/Finance Management Engineering Economics Mathematics or related field;
  • 23 years of work experience ideally in a consulting or professional services environment;
  • Experience in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel) including constructing and understanding 3statement financial models cash flows and scenario analyses;
  • Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data;
  • Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members senior management and other stakeholders or professionals;
  • Mature presence empathy intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly;
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team dynamic;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly;
  • CFA CPA (or equivalent) or technical/GAAP accounting expertise is a plus;
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word

In compliance with Colorados Equal Pay Transparency Act PA is required to provide a reasonable salary range for this role.  This salary range is specific to the State of Colorado and is commensurate with experience market data applicant skills internal equity and/or degrees/certifications.  Colorado Salary Range: Low: $ 96000 High: $180000
