Job Description

We are currently looking for 2 PhD candidates to undertake research in the fields of traffic psychology and work driving behaviour driving safety associated with vehicles as a workplace or motorcycle safety and rider behaviour.

The primary focus of this role is to commence and complete a dissertation contributing to the advancement of knowledge and theory in one of the abovementioned road safety domains. Success in this role requires collaboration with various industry stakeholders including transport and logistics government and private organisations operating vehicle fleets within workplace settings.

The candidate will conduct research in a supportive environment as part of the MAIC Griffith University Road Safety Collaboration Research Team.

The PhD candidate is to be based at Mt Gravatt/ Nathan campuses


Qualifications :

The selection of applicants for the award of higher degree research scholarships at Griffith University involves consideration of your academic merit and research background. To be successful within this role you will be motivated and well organised and able to work well as part of a team. The candidate will be prepared to undertake and complete an independent research project within the areas of road safety in either vehicles as a workplace or motorcycle safety. Ideally you would have a passion for high quality industry collaborative research with a strong desire to undertake research in traffic psychology and road safety.

About the scholarship

The 2024 Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship has an annual stipend of $33480 (indexed) for a period of up to three years of fulltime study. Please see the GUPRS Conditions of Award for more information.
