POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision the Fuel Distribution System Mechanic maintains and repairs fuel storage and distribution systems i.e. gasoline diesel JP8 natural gas and liquid petroleum gas using hand and power tools and testing instruments.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. Service water separators.
2. Inspect fuel receiving storage and distribution facilities and equipment to detect and correct leakagecorrosionfaulty fittings and malfunction of mechanical unitsmetersalarms gauges.
3. Inspect electrical wiring switches and controls for safeoperating condition grounding and adjustmentlubricates and repacks valves.
4. Lubricates pumps replaces gaskets seals and corrects pumping equipment misalignment and cleans strainer sand filters.
5. Check Meters For Correct Delivery And Calibration.
6. Over haul system components such as pressure regulating valve sand excess valves.
7. Disassemblesadjustsalignsand calibrate gauge sand meter
8.Removes and installs equipment such as filters and piping to modify system or repair and replace system component.
9. Clean fuel tanks and Distribution Linesremoving corrosion and repainting surfaces.
10. Overhaul Vacuum And Pressure Vents.
11. Flat Roof Sealshangers and roof sumps.
12. Maintain Record Of Inspections And Repairs.
13. Responds To Emergency Calls After Normal Work Hours.
14. Frequent Travel Between Facilities Required.
15. Performs Other Duties And Special Projects As Assigned.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Twothree years of work experience fuel distribution or a related field.
Familiarity and experience with federal state and/or local rules and regulations regarding fuel distribution required.
Skilled In The Repair Of Fuel Dispensing Equipment.
Knowledge of fuel leak detection systems fuel metering devices and fuel pumps used in the delivery of fuel such as dieselgasolineandJP8.
Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time and adapt to changing work priorities.
Ability To Estimate Time And Materialsand manage resources.
Demonstrated Organizationalproblemsolving and common sense skills.
Hourly Wage: $27.22 an hour
