Job Description

On behalf of our client in the Insurance Broking Industry Deloitte is recruiting a highly skilled and experienced Claims Coordinator. The role holder will be responsible for of coordinating the claims activities of the Company. Specifically he/she will oversee claims handled by the Company with a particular focus on major complex and important claims. 

  •  Review in detail the reports of Adjusters Engineers etc. and make appropriate recommendations to management and the handling unit.
  • Undertake detailed review of claims adjustments and settlement offers received from insurers and adjusters vis a vis the internal adjustment to ascertain equity and fairness for the client.
  • Monitor the progress of claims and follow through to settlement.
  • Set up and administer a digital claims monitoring and tracking system to be used both internally and externally.
  • Ensure the customer receives excellent customer experience on each and every claim in keeping with the Companys Vision.
  • Redflag any claim requiring managements special attention in accordance with the Companys established Claims Red Flag Protocol
  • Review files of settled claims (that qualify for his/her review) to ascertain that the handling and processing conform to the Companys agreed standards and to the reasonable satisfaction of clients.
  • Construct Case Studies for all major and complex claims processed and settled (including exgratia) claims repudiated as well as claims withdrawn by the insureds/claimants etc giving full details of the learning curves in each case.
  • Handle and resolve all claims complaints and disputes professionally and to the clients reasonable satisfaction.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in any of the Social Sciences other sciences Arts Law or any related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years cognate experience from reputable Insurance Broking Companies Insurance Companies and Loss adjusting firms with the last 7 years spent on claims administration/handling
  • Must be an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria or CII London
  • Experience in Claims Strategy Development & Implementation
