Job Description
The Department of Mathematics in the School of Sciences and Humanities at Nazarbayev University invites applications for multiple positions at the rank of Associate Professor. We also welcome outstanding junior candidates applying for an Assistant Professor position. The area of specialization is open. The initial appointment will be for three years and renewable for a longer term upon positive evaluation.
Main responsibilities
- Active research and grantseeking activity;
- Teaching undergraduate courses and graduate courses in mathematics 2 per semester;
- Supervising undergraduate and graduate student research projects;
- Administrative and service work at the departmental school and university level including curricular and program development.
The deadline for applications is October 1 2024 and the starting date for the job is Fall 2025.
Qualifications :
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics Applied Mathematics or Statistics from a reputable international university;
- Demonstrated excellence in research;
- Teaching experience at the university level;
- Mentoring experience in supervising undergraduate and graduate students;
- Excellent Englishlanguage communication and collaboration skills;
- Commitment to maintaining a collegial and inclusive work environment.
