Job Description
What will you be doing
As a Mechanical Engineer you will join a team in Derby/Warrington to support our activities within the Nuclear Sector.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Create and optimize designs for various types of heat exchangers (e.g. shellandtube plate finned) to meet specific thermal and mechanical requirements.
- Contribute to design definitions with calculations analysis and feasibility studies for either thermal performance or mechanical design.
- Diagnose and solve operational issues related to heat exchangers such as fouling pressure drop or reduced efficiency.
- Oversee heat exchanger projects from concept to detail design coordinating with vendors suppliers and other engineering teams.
Who are we looking for
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations. (i.e. ASME III ASME VIII ISO 4126/16528 etc).
- Experience with thermal calculations preferably for industrial heat exchangers (HTRI software experience preferred) OR Experience designing Mechanically heat exchangers and pipes. (Bentley AutoPIPE software experience preferred).
- Ability to analyse complex problems propose innovative solutions and ensure designs meet project specifications and standards.

Qualifications :
Experience skills and qualifications required:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in mechanical and thermal engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in engineering within the energy sector.
- Knowledge of industrial heat exchangers and relevant standards and regulatory frameworks.
