Job Description

The purpose of this position is to audit both internal and external financial reporting monthly financial packages and quarterly financial packages that are submitted to Pilot Travel Centers and Shell Flying J (SFJ) lenders serving as acting controller for SFJ.

 

In this role you will: 

  1. Provide monthly estimates to Pilot Travel Centers controller to incorporate into monthly estimates
  2. Review and approve SFJs budgets
  3. SFJ board meeting document preparation review of Board of Managers (BOM) materials and attend board meetings
  4. Review internal and external report such as management reporting like Bluebook bank financials monthly reports and board of director materials
  5. Budget and forecast against five to 15 year plan and manage various models supporting company financials and forecasts
  6. Serve as SFJ acting controller ensuring appropriate accounting across SFJ company
  7. Conduct financial analysis and ad hoc reporting; prepare and review various financial reports across the company
  8. Perform merger and acquisition analysis and support by reviewing contracts financial statements projections and all other relevant documents
  9. Assist annual audit with preparation of quarterly and annual financial documents supporting the companys external financial statement audit

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting control and/or reporting functions required
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong knowledge of internal control principles
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of various financial and reporting systems and database systems including Budgeting Hyperion Lawson Infor and SQL
  • Possess financial acumen
  • Ability to manage projects and multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent strategic analytical critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Teamwork problem solving conflict management influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate financial principles and practices with nonfinance team members
  • General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Lift up to 20 pounds
