ElBits was established by the grid companies to develop common digital services and digital infrastructure to aid in collaboration and innovation within the power sector. What will you do


As the Head of Data you will set the direction for ElBits approach to data across products platforms and processes
supporting both internal teams and industry partners on their data journeys. This role is leading our efforts to build the competence platform and principles we need to succeed in this space.


Areas of responsibility:

  • Lead data strategy and standardization: Shape our approach to data handling standardization and data governance. Develop our data strategy identifying and prioritizing key data sources to meet business needs across the grid community.
  • Build and manage a data team: Establish and lead a team with expertise in data engineering information governance industry standards and power system data. Recruit and develop team members both to deliver on ElBits objectives and also support grid company partners.
  • Build and oversee the data platform: Establish a clear vision for the data platform that aligns with our business goals and data strategy. This also involves collaborating with developers to design a selfservice standardized data platform that supports efficient data exchange and data storage.
  • Drive data quality and interoperability: Develop data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure longterm data quality improvement and interoperability within the sector.
  • Lead data security and governance within ElBits: Implement data governance principles ensuring secure compliant and efficient data handling and storage practices. Oversee the handling of powersensitive data and compliance with energy sector regulations.
  • Facilitate data collaboration and standardization: Act as a key representative for ElBits in industry discussions on data standardization information architecture and best practices. Facilitate data sharing and thirdparty innovation as well as engage our partners to support their data standardization efforts.
  • Support product development and partner engagement: Support the product teams in ElBits on data products and provide guidance to third parties who want to access our data. Develop use cases from data sets that could create value for the grid and become products later on.

Who are you

We are searching for a skilled and curious individual with strong experience in data engineering and leadership. You thrive on building and leading teams driving strategy and fostering innovation. Prior experience in the energy sector along with its tools and processes is a plus experience from other public sector institutions dealing with complex data can be relevant. What truly matters to us is your passion for tackling complex data challenges and your excitement about shaping the future of the energy industry. Ideally you have experience with:

  • Proven leadership: You have built and managed teams from the ground up fostering collaboration and creating an environment where people thrive and deliver their best work.
  • Expertise in the data fields: Experience in data engineering data science or information systems. We value strong foundational knowledge and adaptibility across domains.
    • Experience from the energy grid or public sector is strongly valued.Experience in using and implementing standards is also valuable.
  • Strategic thinking: You have an understanding of data platforms and data governance as well as the ability to align data initiatives with overarching business goals. You can see the bigger picture while keeping an eye on operational details.
  • Insight in product development: Experience with product development and/or showcasing your ability to think about data in the context of usercentric solutions and innovation.
  • Effective communication: You can break down complex concepts into clear simple language making datarelated subjects accessible and actionable for our stakeholders internally and externally.
