We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer II reporting to the Technical Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive customer support related to the John Crane product portfolio
- Selecting designing and installing sealing systems including mechanical seals and API support plans
- Designing and implementing filtration systems and couplings
- Developing and executing standardization projects to improve efficiency and consistency
- Generating detailed technical reports and documentation
- Conducting thorough failure analysis on equipment and systems
- Supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives with customers to identify and resolve issues
- Offering expert advice and issuing technical proposals for complex engineering challenges
- Providing onsite technical assistance and troubleshooting support
- Conducting technical training sessions for customers and internal personnel
- Collaborating with crossfunctional teams to ensure project success and customer satisfaction
- Staying uptodate with industry trends and technological advancements in mechanical engineering
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and suggesting process enhancements
- Contributing to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures
This role requires a strong technical background excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment. The Engineer II will be expected to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer needs and project requirements.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in quality design and/or engineering project execution
- Knowledge of rotating equipment (preferred not mandatory)
- Basic to intermediate Solid Edge skills
- Intermediate English proficiency (both written and verbal)
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with John Crane product portfolio including mechanical seals and API support plans
- Proficiency in designing and implementing filtration systems and couplings
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
- Experience in conducting failure analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Excellent technical writing skills for reports and documentation
- Proven ability to deliver technical training and presentations
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. API ASME)
- Experience in project management and crossfunctional team collaboration
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma Lean)
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced dynamic environment
- Spanish language proficiency (considering the position is based in Colombia)
