Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


The Food & Beverage Server provides exceptional quality and service to Restaurant Name guests. In this role, you will be tasked with providing an expertly served beverage or dining experience; anticipating the guests’ needs and as an expert on the menu options; and delivering memorable guest experiences.

What You Will Do

Provide an enjoyable dining experience through excellence for quality, professionalism, and friendliness.
Anticipate guest needs and satisfaction; offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
The Food & Beverage Server is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests
Food & Beverage Server clear tables and reset them neatly, rapidly, and completely according to specification
Ability to work, weekend, nights and holidays
Greeting and Seating Guests:

Welcome Guests: Greet guests as they arrive with a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
Seating Guests: Escort guests to their tables, ensuring they are comfortably seated and have the necessary menus.
Introductions: Introduce the menu and explain any specials or promotions to guests.
Taking Orders:

Order Taking: Take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring accuracy and attention to special dietary requirements, allergies, or preferences.
Menu Recommendations: Provide suggestions based on guest preferences, including recommending dishes or drinks.
Clarification: Answer any questions about the menu, ingredients, or preparation methods.
Serving Food and Beverages:

Food Delivery: Ensure that food and drinks are served promptly and correctly, making sure they match the orders taken.
Proper Service Etiquette: Serve food and drinks according to proper etiquette, ensuring that guests are provided with the appropriate cutlery, napkins, and condiments.
Timing: Serve courses in the correct order, ensuring that guests' meals are delivered at the right temperature and in a timely manner.
Guest Interaction and Customer Service:

Customer Experience: Ensure that guests are satisfied with their meals and experience, addressing any concerns or requests in a timely manner.
Check-Back: Check in with guests during their meal to ensure everything is to their liking and to address any further needs.
Addressing Complaints: Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues to management if necessary.
Upselling and Promoting Specials:

Suggesting Add-Ons: Recommend appetizers, drinks, desserts, or upgrades to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
Daily Specials: Highlight daily specials, promotions, or seasonal items on the menu to guests.
Handling Payments:

Bill Presentation: Present the check when requested and process payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, or digital payments.
Change Handling: Provide accurate change when necessary and thank the guest for their patronage.
Gratuity: Ensure that guests are aware of tipping policies, especially for large parties, if applicable.


Desired candidate profile

An outgoing personality and a can-do approach to an assigned task
High level of understanding and knowledge of food and wine
Background in Luxury Resort and Hotel considered an asset
Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language, Arabic is an asset
Experienced in Luxury Resort and Hotel is an advantage
Background in French Restaurant is a plus
Customer Service Skills:

Ability to engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
Strong communication skills to understand guest needs and address concerns.
Attention to Detail:

Ensuring orders are accurate, delivering food and drinks as requested, and providing all necessary items (e.g., condiments, extra napkins).
Multitasking and Time Management:

Ability to juggle multiple tables, orders, and tasks simultaneously without sacrificing quality service.
Efficient time management to ensure guests are attended to promptly.
Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays of food and drinks, and navigate busy dining rooms with ease.
Teamwork:

Ability to work effectively with other staff members, including kitchen staff, other servers, and managers.
Problem-Solving:

Capability to address guest concerns or issues effectively, offering solutions that satisfy the guest.
Adaptability:

Flexibility to handle various customer requests, special dietary needs, or changes in the dining environment, such as high traffic or large parties.
Knowledge of the Menu:

Understanding the items on the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, in order to assist guests and provide recommendations.
