Manage the daily operations of the department

Leadership and Department Management
Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across all year groups.
Develop and implement the Mathematics curriculum, ensuring it meets the school’s educational objectives and aligns with national standards and guidelines.
Oversee the planning and delivery of lessons across the department, providing guidance and support to the teaching staff.
Set and monitor departmental goals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations.
Act as a role model for teachers in the department, demonstrating excellent teaching practices and a passion for the subject.
Manage the department’s resources, ensuring that all teachers have the materials and tools they need to deliver effective lessons.
Curriculum Development and Implementation
Lead the design, development, and review of the Mathematics curriculum to ensure it is challenging, inclusive, and engaging for students of all abilities.
Ensure that the curriculum is regularly updated, reflects the latest developments in mathematics education, and incorporates opportunities for cross-curricular learning.
Develop and implement strategies for differentiation in the curriculum to support students with varying levels of ability, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and those who are gifted and talented.
Ensure that all areas of mathematics, including number, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability, are covered effectively.
Monitor the implementation of the curriculum, ensuring that all teachers are delivering the curriculum consistently and to a high standard.
Assessment and Monitoring of Student Progress
Develop and implement an assessment framework for the department, ensuring that assessments are fair, consistent, and aligned with the curriculum.
Analyze student data and assessment results to monitor progress, identify trends, and track achievement across different groups of students.
Use assessment data to inform teaching strategies, identify students who need additional support, and tailor lessons to meet individual learning needs.
Provide regular feedback to students on their progress and performance, setting challenging but achievable targets for improvement.
Ensure that regular formative and summative assessments are in place, and that students are well-prepared for internal and external exams.
Commitment to student well-being and learning
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a teaching certificate
Experience in a CBSE or international school
Strong communication and people skills
High-level of cultural awareness and sensitivity
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, with expertise in topics such as algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics, and probability.
Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all students, regardless of ability level.
Experience in using a variety of teaching strategies, including problem-solving, inquiry-based learning, and project-based learning, to engage students in mathematics.
Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive, focused learning environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in clear, understandable terms.
Leadership and Management Skills
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of teachers to achieve high standards.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage a range of responsibilities and projects simultaneously.
