Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled L3 Storage and Backup Support Engineer to oversee and support storage and backup infrastructure across our enterprise environment. The candidate will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting configuration monitoring and optimization of storage and backup systems to ensure high availability data integrity and efficient data protection.
Responsibilities:
Storage Management:

Monitoring & Alert Configuration:
- Monitor storage systems (Pure Storage NetApp EMC Unity) for performance health and capacity.
- Configure alerts for proactive issue detection and escalation to minimize downtime.

Storage Allocation & Reclamation:
- Allocate storage resources as per project requirements ensuring optimal utilization.
- Reclaim unused storage to enhance efficiency and free up resources.

LUN Management:
- Configure and manage LUN replication for data redundancy and availability.
- Add new LUNs to protection groups based on business needs.

SAN Management:
- Manage SAN infrastructure including zoning configuration and removal on Cisco switches.
- Recommend process improvements for efficient SAN operations.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- Generate reports on storage performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities.
- Perform detailed analysis and resolve storagerelated performance issues.

Replication & Code Upgrades:
- Monitor replication activities for accurate data synchronization.
- Perform firmware and software upgrades to keep storage systems secure and uptodate.

Advanced Troubleshooting:
- Handle complex storagerelated hardware and software issues.
- Resolve performance issues and userreported problems promptly.

Vendor Coordination:
- Collaborate with vendors for maintenance troubleshooting and hardware replacements.
Backup Management:

Backup and Restore:
- Manage backup processes using Cohesity and Rubrik for various types (Filelevel Blocklevel VM DB NAS SAN).
- Implement restore approaches to ensure timely data recovery.

Deduplication & Event Monitoring:
- Optimize storage space using deduplication concepts in backup environments.
- Monitor backup events and respond to issues promptly.

Agent Installation & Maintenance:
- Install configure and troubleshoot backup agents across multiple platforms.

Reboots & Migrations:
- Execute reboot processes for media agents and CommServe.
- Handle migration tasks for CommServe and media agents as required.

Disaster Recovery:
- Design and maintain disaster recovery setups ensuring data availability during emergencies.
- Perform regular disaster recovery tests to ensure readiness.

Disk and Tape Library Configuration:
- Configure and manage disk and tape libraries for efficient archival and retrieval processes.

Troubleshooting Backup Failures:
- Resolve backup failures focusing on clusterrelated and systemlevel issues.
- Maintain high backup performance with minimal operational disruptions.

Vendor Communication:
- Coordinate with backup software vendors for support updates and troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of storage systems: Pure Storage NetApp EMC Unity.
- Proficiency in backup tools: Cohesity Rubrik.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Pure Storage NetApp Cohesity or Rubrik.
