Our client is seeking a talented Automation Engineer to provide topnotch support to their clients across the Asia Pacific region. This remote role based in India combines technical expertise with handson customer interaction and requires travel to customer sites.
Field Engineer Automation
(Based in India)
ORGANISATION:
Reporting to the Customer Support Manager in Singapore you will play a key role in the engineering and service support team as the automation expert in charge of providing both offsite and onsite service and technical support to customers in APAC region (excluding China). You will be required to travel locally and regionally around 50% for the role.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installation and Coordination: Manage the mechanical and electrical installation of equipment at customer premises including utility connections and placement. Supervise and ensure the quality of work performed by local contractors. Coordinate all installation activities to ensure seamless execution.
Technical Support: Offer comprehensive support in mechanical electrical and automation systems with a focus on PLC programming. Troubleshoot technical issues propose solutions and guide customers through problem resolution. Act as the primary liaison between manufacturing partners and customers especially for technical and warrantyrelated concerns.
Maintenance and Documentation: Assess and recommend maintenance schedules and spare part requirements. Ensure accurate documentation for all equipment including manuals layouts and process diagrams. Develop and share detailed instructions for spare part replacements to streamline customer operations.
Team Collaboration and Training: Work closely with the AfterSales and Sales teams to support customer needs. Assist in managing spare parts and inventory through SAP software. Participate in training programs to stay updated on industry advancements.
YOUR PROFILE:
Degree in Electrical engineering; Mechatronic background will be a plus.
5 to 10 years of solid experience in automation and electromechanical troubleshooting in the industrial sector.
At least 3 years of experience in automation software development ideally in the food pharmaceutical or cosmetics machinery sectors.
Experience working with customers from the food or beverage processing industry is preferred.
Technical expert in electrical and automation field with good knowledge/exposure electrical drive systems pneumatics hydraulics and functional safety.
You must have experience in PLC programming and using systems like Siemens (TIA Portal) and Rockwell (Studio 5000).
Proficiency in communication protocols such as ProfiBus ProfiNet ProfiSafe IOLink EthernetIP and Modbus.
A keen learner and able to read and interpret hydraulic electrical and mechanical prints and analyze complex situations remotely or at site.
Proactive mindset selfstarter with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working as a team.
Flexible and able to manage local and international projects independently.
Effective communicator with good English writing and speaking skills.
Willing to travel across APAC region (around 50% in a year).
