GDMSC is seeking a Systems Engineer join our Naval Sonar Systems team in Halifax. Our products deliver leading edge Underwater Warfare capabilities. You will play a key role in driving sonar system innovation collaborating closely with Software and SIV&V teams. Responsibilities include cooperative Scrum work technical leadership and requirements management system design resolving issues interfacing with suppliers and supporting software implementation. You will contribute to optimum system design aid in integration and verification and manage ship installation design.
The responsibilities and range of activities will vary depending on experience but in general will include:
- Develop document and manage requirements for system and subsystem specifications.
- Conduct requirements analysis and flow down activities
- Identify resolve and track requirement issues
- Develop document and manage the system subsystem and software design
- Develop document and manage system and subsystem interfaces
- Support and technical oversight for suppliers responsible for provision of subsystems
- Interface with specialty engineering disciplines to ensure the optimum system design
- Support Software Team in implementation of system design
- Support the SIV&V Team in integration and verification of the software subsystems and system
- Develop document and manage the ship installation design
- Provide support to installation set to work integration and acceptance on the ship
- Report progress and status
Qualifications :
- Relevant systems engineering experience with complex electronic systems or a combination of equivalent education/experience
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
