Problem statement
TikTok videos are getting more and more popular. With the current trend of generative AI it can be expected that more and more artificial content is generated. Also this content needs some user input and for human motions it might be easier to in the future just do the movement rather than describing it via text input to an AI.
Therefore motion capturing is needed to input a pose for the AI. Pure video solutions need more than one camera for good precision.
Proposed solution
The master thesis shall evaluate if one camera and more IMU sensors can also enhance the precision like using multiple cameras for motion capturing.
We propose the following topics to be covered in the thesis:
* Setup motion capturing system (open source)
* Record scene together with IMU Data
* Extract body movements from capturing system
* Create comparison method to compare body movement with IMU movement
* Create fusion method which combines the IMU recorded data with 3d poses
* Show performance increase if IMU is also used
You will of course have the opportunity to shape the thesis based on your knowledge skills and discoveries during the project.
Scope of master thesis project
Two students completing 30 credits each (20 weeks) onsite at the Lund office
Please note: Only applications from students at a Swedish University are accepted.
Qualifications :
Your profile
In order to be successful in the project with think you are:
* A student in Information Technology Computer Science Electronics Maths or Physics.
* Required knowledge / courses on data science and AI
* Interested in algorithm development and have some signal processing experience with machine learning knowledge.
* Experienced with or have at least some knowledge of programming in Python.
* Selfdriven ability to challenge yourself and gain the experience needed to move the project forward.
* A person with team spirit social skills and curiosity for exploring new technology areas.
