Job Description

Chapter Lead Techno Functional Chapter is a managing and leadership function within BD. Apart from People Leadership the role also involves being a Business Consultant and/or Solution Manager.

As part of the leadership team the role is the link between team members and respective upper management depending on organizational structures.

The role leads a core team of people involved in several functions. The role may also involve understanding the business of our customers and oversee the customers IT portfolio with its products services and solutions.

As a Business Consultant/Solution Manager the role would be responsible for consulting with our customers for solution consulting business development and possibly the whole lifecycle of the IT Solutions as well as its commercial success.


Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering MIS or similar areas.

Required Knowledge Skills Ability Training Experience etc.

Strong leadership competencies in leading a team made up of senior techno functional experts using inspiring and motivation skills

Global thinking and strategic view in a multidimensional and innovative environment with knowledge of the organization

Business relationship management skills for effective expectation management and business development

Analytical and problem solving abilities that include identifying and mitigating risks

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and moderation skills

Strong understanding of HR processes and experience in systems automating these processes.


Additional Information :

As a PeTA and Disciplinary Manager within BD the role is about leading a team made up of several different profiles and skillsets. The role is expected to:

  • Provide highly skilled and motivated employees for the respective capability area.
  • Associate development.
  • Ensure chargeability / utilization / demand forecasts of employees in the respective capability area in collaboration with the portfolio and resource management.
  • Drive capability development improvement innovation and efficiency increases e.g. reusable building blocks in the respective area.
  • Enable knowledge exchange within and between capability areas.
  • Recruit internal and external experts & talents based on demand and required expertise.
  • Manage actively feedback processes with employees and support their career path (in alignment with respective target manager).
  • Provide a working environment for agile and virtual collaboration.
  • Manage link between process orientation and specialization on IT capabilities.
  • Communicate proactively with Business Team and Expertise Family Leads regarding resource bottlenecks and unused capacities as well as technological issues and opportunities.

As a Business Consultant/ Solution Manager acts as a senior expert/consultant in an Agile environment:

 

  • Consults the customer e.g. Domain GE (Operating Unit) in all ITrelated topics 
  • Shows strong customer orientation and acts as a counterpart within IT delivery for the business 
  • Understands the business model of the customer and drives business needs throughout IT delivery.

The role provides full transparency about ITinitiatives and dependencies across all IT types

Manages customer requirements/backlog/roadmaps including input for IT Products/Services development may proactively consults the business in optimizing the Solution (technical commercial) and in regards to standardization and also to bring local / legal needs into global solutions. May also plan and actively executes projects for IT Solutions including planning processes in close alignment with the experts in the Solution Team and Product/Service teams (Solution roadmap).

The role may also involve managing IT Solutions dependencies and integration of involved IT Products/Services in close alignment with relevant Product/Service Owners and central solution cluster leads. Lastly the role may require the individual to be accountable for plan build deploy run and phase out of the IT Solutions orchestrates responsible roles to have a stable build and run team.
