Job Description

Creating history establishing legacies for our future generations!

Our Eastern Rail Engineering Management Team is based in our AECOM Leeds offices and has an established record for successfully delivering Rail Projects most notably the recent Northumberland line which is the biggest thirdline rail project in the UK creating a new line and six new stations aiming to deliver economic benefits between 360m to 470m! The project will help tackle congestion and improve air quality by shifting journeys from road to rail.

Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression.  The team provides technical leadership of projects throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility preliminary and detailed stage designs.

Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include the major custodians of the UKs rail network numerous local authorities and major Contractors.

We are searching for an experienced multidisciplinary experienced Rail Engineering Manager to join the team based in Leeds. 

Operating around our core values you will:

Collaborate Leading multidisciplinary engineers to deliver integrated designs and building effective relationships with our technical teams and Clients.

Deliver The projects we deliver range from stations to train maintenance and servicing depots and power supply upgrades.  We also provide support for other parts of AECOMs business on major multidisciplinary projects.

Safeguard You will be responsible for appointment of competent discipline lead engineers for technical delivery. Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique problems. This involves exploration of subject area definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.

Anticipate Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects you will hold our clients hands to overcome the complexities in unison when they inevitably arise.

Qualifications :

We recognise a variety of experience and backgrounds may suit this role and that experience levels in specific technical areas may vary. If you feel you only meet some of the requirements below or have transferrable skills we would still love to hear from you!

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer CEng / Ieng or working towards this status.
  • Recognised engineering qualification or preferably a degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of system interfaces and experience in technical engineering leadership which impact on discipline design principles and demonstrable experience of the successful management of interfaces within projects.
  • Must have multidisciplinary experience in Rail
