The Asia Sub Regional Legal and Ethics & Compliance Counsel will be a member of the Group Legal Ethics and Compliance Department and will collaborate with the other Egis Legal Departments teams based in France and as the case may be in other regions. This position will report directly to the General Counsel of the APAC with a dotted line to the Group Ethics and Compliance Director.
Ethics & Compliance (ca. 4050% of the time)
- Promote corporate ethics & compliance rules policies and guidelines in the Asia subregion.
- Advise in coordination with the Regional GC and the Ethics & Compliance Group department on the implementation of ethics & compliance controls in regional business processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external regional/local stakeholders to manage ethics & compliance risks and elaborate the E&C risk mapping.
- Review and advise on the International Financing Institutions (Asian dev bank etc) Call for tenders
- Empower engage educate and train management and employees on ethics & compliance risks.
- Conduct preventive testing.
- Ensure regular reporting to Ethics & Compliance Group department.
- Manage local reporting of ethics & compliance violations and conduct investigations and monitor corrective action plans.
- Conduct periodic field visits to the countries and BLs to fulfill responsibilities.
- Cascade and promote actions of communication on Ethics & Compliance topics.
- Participate in the Monthly Ethics & Compliance Group Network.
- Contribute to workshops in order to ensure pragmatic & applicable Compliance processes.
- Manage Third party due diligence.
Legal (ca. 4050% of the time)
- Provide to all deployed businesses and functions of the Asia subregion solutionoriented advice. recommendation guidance support and training on all aspects of legal issues and regulatory risks in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the corporate entity housekeeping of the Egis entities in the Asia subregion.
- Provide legal support and guidance for commercial projects agreements and other strategic initiatives to the Egis operations in the Asia subregion.
- Manage and supervise disputes legal actions and litigation in the Asia subregion.
- Perform adhoc assignments or projects as required by Legal Department.
- Lead and coordinate insurance (PI PL & GL) for the sub region in close relationship with the Group .
Qualifications :
- University Degree Holder in Law with a recognized university.
- Qualified lawyer with proven experience in a similar position with a regional scope in Asia.
- Have good writing and communication skills.
- Rigorous honest convincing and a good negotiator.
- Able to adapt in a multicultural environment.
- Autonomous pragmatic and handson business partner attitude with a solutionoriented mindset the highest integrity and professionalism and passion for excellence and quality across various business functions in a fastpaced environment.
- Language: excellent English with proficiency in spoken Mandarin and written Chinese is required.
