Job Summary:
The Project Offshore HSSE Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing health safety and environmental protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and corporate policies.They will lead the development and implementation of HSSE strategies work closely with the Project HSSE Manager and the operational teams to foster a culture of safety and ensure that all offshore activities are conducted in a safe sustainable and environmentally conscious manner.
Responsibilities:
HSSE Policy Implementation:
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSSE policies procedures and guidelines tailored to the project offshore operations.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements for health safety and environmental practices.
Risk Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead incident investigations analyze root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Training and Development:
- Organize and conduct HSSE training programs for offshore personnel to enhance awareness and competency.
- Mentor and support HSSE staff and site safety supervisors to promote a proactive safety culture.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Oversee compliance with HSSE regulations and prepare detailed reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain documentation and records related to HSSE activities and incidents.
Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor HSSE performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety standards.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate HSSE considerations into operational processes.
- Communicate safety protocols emergency procedures and risk awareness effectively to all Project workforce.
Emergency Response:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Coordinate emergency response efforts in the event of an incident minimizing impact and supporting recovery efforts.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IGC NEBOSHIDip IVQ Level 6 OSHE or equivalent are preferred.
Technical knowledge:
- Offshore Safety Regulations: Extensive knowledge of offshore safety regulations (e.g. IMO STCW OVID SOLAS) including international standards (e.g. OHSAS ISO) and local regulatory requirements for offshore works.
- Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation: Proven experience in conducting offshore risk assessments HAZID/HAZOP studies and managing incident investigations and root cause analyses.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSSE Lead roles with specific experience in Offshore projects.
- A minimum of 15 years of field experience (onshore/offshore) with at least 5 years in offshore oil and gas operations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Indepth knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards with a preference for familiarity with OSHA and HSE UK regulations.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively train motivate and guide personnel in environmental and safety practices.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including contractorssubcontractors and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to work effectively in highpressure highrisk environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSSE management software.
- Proficiency in preparing and delivering environmental reports and presentations.
