The L2 Oracle Cloud Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments assisting in the deployment of cloud resources and troubleshooting issues escalated from the L1 team. The role requires handson experience with OCI services networking and security while providing intermediatelevel support for daytoday operations. The L2 administrator will work closely with L3 administrators and other technical teams to ensure smooth operation of cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain Oracle Cloud resources including compute instances block storage virtual cloud networks (VCN) and Oracle databases.
Assist with the deployment and configuration of Oracle Cloud services as per requirements.
Perform regular system updates and apply patches to maintain the security and stability of cloud environments.
Provide L2 support for cloudrelated incidents working on issues escalated from the L1 support team.
Troubleshoot performance connectivity and configuration issues in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and escalate more complex issues to the L3 team.
Monitor cloud infrastructure using OCI native tools and resolve alerts related to resource utilization performance and health.
Configure and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies users and roles in Oracle Cloud.
Ensure proper access control and security policies are enforced on all Oracle Cloud resources.
Respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities by implementing required patches and updates.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of scripts (using Shell Python or Oracle Cloud Shell) to automate regular tasks such as backups monitoring and resource provisioning.
Perform basic automation of cloud services using Oracle Cloud Shell or Terraform under the guidance of senior administrators.
Ensure regular backups of Oracle Cloud services particularly databases and critical applications and verify data integrity.
Assist with disaster recovery drills and ensure proper documentation of recovery procedures.
Monitor Oracle Cloud services using builtin monitoring tools like Oracle Cloud Monitoring.
Track resource utilization and help optimize cloud resources for better performance and costefficiency.
Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation of cloud resources configurations and support procedures.
Collaborate with the L3 team and other technical departments to address complex cloud issues and implement new solutions.
Create and update knowledge base articles and runbooks for commonly encountered issues and solutions.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
Experience: 24 years of experience in cloud administration with at least 12 years specifically working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Certifications: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Associate (preferred) or other relevant Oracle Cloud certifications.
Skills and Competencies:
Handson experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services including Compute Storage Networking and Database services.
Understanding of networking in cloud environments (VCN Subnets Security Lists Load Balancers etc.).
Experience managing security configurations such as IAM policies and encryption.
Basic knowledge of scripting (Shell Python) and automation tools (Terraform Ansible).
Familiarity with monitoring tools and basic performance tuning in Oracle Cloud.
Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with the ability to manage incidents efficiently.
Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with team members across different departments.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred:
Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning in cloud environments.
Familiarity with multicloud environments or hybrid cloud setups.
Knowledge of database management in Oracle Cloud including Autonomous Databases and Oracle RAC.
