Job Description
- Develop and implement engaging French language curriculum aligned with the IB PYP standards.
- Plan and conduct interactive lessons that incorporate speaking listening reading and writing skills.
- Create a visually stimulating and culturally rich classroom environment.
- Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance language learning.
- Encourage student participation through collaborative activities games and projects.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments evaluating language proficiency.
- Provide constructive feedback to encourage student growth and confidence.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate language learning across subjects.
- Engage with parents and guardians to foster a supportive learning community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on IB curriculum changes.
- Promote cultural understanding and appreciation for the French language and its history.
- Monitor classroom behavior and implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Facilitate extracurricular activities related to French culture such as clubs or language contests.
- Actively contribute to schoolwide initiatives and events related to the IB philosophy.
- Bachelor s degree in Education French Language or related field.
- Teaching certification or license corresponding to the location of employment.
- Experience teaching French preferably in an IB PYP or international school setting.
- Fluency in both French and English; additional languages are a plus.
- Familiarity with the IB framework and philosophy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Experience in using technology effectively in the classroom.
- Ability to assess and evaluate student performance in a constructive manner.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and selfimprovement.
- Exceptional problemsolving skills and adaptability to changing environments.
- Experience with cultural exchange programs or international education is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and staff.
- Passion for teaching and enthusiasm for the French language and culture.
- Understanding of child development and educational psychology relevant to young learners.
