Drama and Theater Teacher at Bloomingdale International School
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Drama and Theater Teacher to inspire students through the performing arts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theater acting and stage production along with a commitment to fostering creativity and confidence in students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an engaging theater curriculum that aligns with international standards.
- Conduct acting scriptwriting voice modulation and improvisation lessons.
- Organize and direct school plays skits and drama competitions.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate drama into interdisciplinary learning.
- Guide students in developing public speaking storytelling and stage presence.
- Manage stage productions including script selection rehearsals costumes and set design.
- Encourage students to participate in external theater events and competitions.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them grow in performance and confidence.
- Maintain an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Theater Arts Performing Arts or a related field.
- 2 years of experience teaching drama/theater to school students (IB/International curriculum experience preferred).
- Strong acting directing and stage management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Passionate about working with children and fostering creativity.
- Experience in lighting sound and technical aspects of theater is a plus.
