Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a curriculum aligned with the IB DP standards for German language.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assessments and feedback.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
- Encourage student participation in discussions and group activities.
- Integrate technology into teaching to enhance learning experiences.
- Organize cultural activities and events promoting German language and culture.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to ensure interdisciplinary learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Provide individual support to students to address their unique needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
- Participate in professional development initiatives and workshops.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the IB curriculum.
- Promote a positive learning atmosphere and nurture student curiosity.
- Address classroom management issues effectively and empathetically.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in German language education or a related field.
- Master s degree in education or a related field preferred.
- Teaching certification recognized by the relevant educational authority.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching German at the high school level.
- Strong understanding of the IB DP curriculum.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English.
- Experience in designing curriculum and lesson plans.
- Knowledge of contemporary teaching methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in engaging with diverse student populations.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Familiarity with student assessment tools and techniques.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Passion for teaching and learning especially in language education.
