Job Title: Staff Pharmacist
Job Summary:
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical supplies to both inpatient and outpatient populations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards hospital policies and best practices to provide highquality pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare verify and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies for inpatient and outpatient needs.
Provide drug information and guidance to healthcare professionals patients and families.
Monitor medication therapies for safety and efficacy addressing potential interactions or contraindications.
Maintain accurate records for all prescriptions and inventory management.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans.
Ensure compliance with all New York State (NYS) regulations and hospital policies.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives staff education and training programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) required.
Must be a Registered Pharmacist licensed in New York State (NYS).
Experience:
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in computer systems and software is preferred.
Work Schedule:
Primary Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Secondary Shifts: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
