Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions continually.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with doctors specialists and healthcare team.
- Manage advanced life support equipment.
- Document patient information accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans.
- Participate in regular team meetings and case reviews.
- Implement infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist in surgical procedures and interventions as needed.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to families.
- Conduct regular rounds to evaluate patient progress.
- Respond to emergency situations with composure.
- Maintain knowledge of best practices and advancements in critical care.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of employment.
- Bachelor s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferably in ICU.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of cardiac respiratory and neurological conditions.
- Experience with ICU equipment and technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in highstress situations.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.
- Demonstrated ability to function as part of a team.
- Commitment to continued professional development.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in nursing.
- Empathy and bedside manner to ensure compassionate care.
