This position provides professional respiratory care to patients in various states of health and illness by assessing planning implementing and evaluating the care plan. The therapist is responsible for delivering and overseeing patient care for adult ICU populations as well as all patients requiring respiratory care in general units including adult pediatric and cystic fibrosis patients.
The therapist must be able to respond quickly to any emergent situation and endure repetitive physical movement. This role requires the ability to remain standing for the majority of the shift and to serve patients across a wide variety of areas. The therapist may be expected to take charge and/or work in the ICU upon successful completion of charge and ICU proficiencies.
Therapists are required to maintain proficiencies as defined by departmental expectations in both adult ICUs and all general units. New hires must complete proficiencies within one year of their hire date.

New graduates and experienced therapists are encouraged to apply.
MustHaves
- Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Vermont before the start date.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Respiratory Care.
- New graduates must obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) status from the NBRC within one year of hire.
- Experienced therapists must already hold RRT status.
- Current BCLS and ACLS certifications are required.
NiceToHaves
Bachelors Degree preferred.
Shift Note:
Shifts are for 12hour periods either from 7AM to 7PM or 7PM to 7AM. There are three shifts per week totaling 72 hours per pay period. Staff are expected to work every other weekend and rotate holidays. We have multiple day and night positions available.
SignOn Bonus
Internal candidates are eligible for a onetime signon bonus.
$5000 bonus for professionals with less than three years of directly related experience or a $10000 bonus for those with three or more years of directly related experience.
