The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our team. As a new position reporting to our General Manager the Operations Manager will guide our growth maintain our commitment to quality and build a strong culture across all locations that make up Forbidden Mechanical now and in the future.
Reporting to the General Manager the Operations Manager sets plans to achieve Forbidden Mechanical s growth strategy and identifies opportunities for operational excellence. This position oversees all aspects of operations ensuring efficiency and effectiveness with a priority on safety quality and customer service. The Operations Manager manages financials including budgets revenue sources and financial reporting to achieve revenue targets and meet key company metrics. This role also develops and executes strategies to optimize performance and resource utilization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Partnering with the General Manager in strategic decisionmaking and leading the company to achieve annual goals.
- Leading safety management system delivery ensuring effective training delivery ensuring adherence to regulations and fostering a safetyfirst culture.
- Ensuring efficient operations and consistent processes across departments and branches.
- Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives partnering with Finance Branch Managers and departmental leads to optimize systems and processes across all departments.
- Developing and optimizing annual operating and capital plans as well as asset management to support revenue & KPI targets.
- Managing financials including budgets revenue sources and financial reporting.
- Conducting contract and rate negotiations staying current on all local industry rates.
- Maintaining customer and high levels of customer service with proactive communication and oversight of quality and timely service delivery.
- Supporting business development activities by establishing and maintaining key relationships identified to support the company growth strategy.
- Overseeing workforce planning leading development planning for managers and overseeing or leading recruitment for branch management roles.
- Coaching direct reports and driving a coaching culture across the company.
- Leading internal communications across all locations ensuring consistent and regular communication to all staff.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to Heavy Duty Automotive and Commercial Transport service.
- Knowledge of people management best practices and relevant current employment legislation.
- Knowledge of safety management best practices and current safety regulations.
- Budgeting and cost management skills.
- Project planning and execution skills.
- Skills in communicating effectively (verbal and written).
- Excellent people leadership teamwork and collaboration skills.

Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of experience in operations management or a related field with a proven track record of managing teams and overseeing operational processes.
- Two (2) or more years in a supervisory or managerial role demonstrating experience in leading teams building organizational and safety culture managing projects and achieving operational goals.
- Experience with budgeting resource allocation and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience as a Service Advisor Service Manager Parts Person Parts Manager or Fixed Operations Manager preferred.
- Experience as an Automotive Heavyduty or Commercial Transport Mechanic preferred.
- Experience with Karmak Fusion an asset.
