Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Technical Administrator with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) upgrades and system administration. In this role you will be responsible for managing and executing RHEL upgrades troubleshooting incidents that arise during upgrades and implementing change requests. You will also manage incident resolution and provide updates via tools such as JIRA to ensure smooth and efficient system operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- RHEL Upgrades:
- Plan manage and execute RHEL system upgrades ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to users.
- Analyze the system environment before and after upgrades to ensure compatibility stability and security.
- Ensure the successful deployment of new RHEL versions patches and security updates.
- Incident Troubleshooting and Resolution:
- Analyze and troubleshoot incidents that occur during the upgrade process resolving issues quickly to minimize system downtime.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to address any configuration or systemrelated problems.
- Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and provide permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Change Request Implementation:
- Implement change requests related to system upgrades patches and other configuration adjustments.
- Coordinate with other departments or stakeholders to ensure changes are applied in line with company policies and procedures.
- Document and track changes made to the system to ensure compliance and traceability.
- JIRA Management:
- Create update and manage tickets in JIRA related to system incidents changes and upgrades.
- Provide regular status updates on open incidents or requests ensuring timely resolution and communication with stakeholders.
- Maintain an organized and efficient JIRA board to track and prioritize technical tasks.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Perform routine system monitoring to ensure RHEL environments are operating efficiently and securely.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks security vulnerabilities and other issues proactively.
- Work with the team to maintain system health and ensure that all necessary updates and patches are applied.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of upgrades incidents troubleshooting procedures and change implementations.
- Provide regular reports on the status of system upgrades incidents and completed change requests.
- Ensure that all technical documentation is kept up to date and accessible for future reference.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate closely with other technical teams (network security support etc.) to ensure systems are configured correctly and work seamlessly.
- Provide support to endusers or other teams for any system issues assisting in troubleshooting or guiding them to solutions.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven experience in RHEL upgrades system administration and server management.
- Solid experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical incidents that occur during system upgrades or updates.
- Experience with JIRA for managing tickets related to incidents change requests and system updates.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Linux systems specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools to track system health and performance.
- Indepth knowledge of patch management system security practices and configurations for RHEL environments.
- Experience in managing system changes and ensuring smooth implementation with minimal disruption.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to interact effectively with stakeholders users and team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Detailoriented and organized with the ability to manage various system upgrade and change request processes.
