Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Contract Manager with 2 years of experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of U.S. construction laws and have handson experience managing contracts negotiating terms and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role based in Toronto within the Finance and Administration department and reporting to the Legal and Insurance Manager will involve collaborating with both Canadian and U.S. stakeholders internal and external on various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

.

Contract Review & Negotiation: Reviews terms and conditions of contracts (service/maintenance refurbishment and new construction agreements) and negotiate terms ensuring alignment with company policies procedures and regulatory standards.

.

Risk Management: Identify contractual risks and work with legal and project management teams to mitigate potential issues.

.

Client Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with contractors subcontractors property managers and other clients and serve as the point of contact for contractrelated discussions and negotiations.

.

Communicate Effectively: Work closely with project managers legal team and finance departments to ensure contract terms are properly executed and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.

.

Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate documentation of contract documents. Prepare reports and updates for senior management regarding contract statuses and compliance.

.

Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving contract disputes claims and issues through negotiation and if necessary legal support.

.

Other administrative duties: Provide support and assist with other required administrative duties in the contracts/legal department.

Requirements:

.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in contract review and administration in contract management or related role within the construction industry.

.

Legal Terminology: Familiarity with legal terms and conditions with the ability to read and interpret legal contract language.

.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management law business or a related field.

.

Skills: Strong negotiation communication and analytical skills. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

.

Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

Additional Qualifications:

.

Experience working on crossborder construction projects (CanadaU.S.) is a plus.

.

Certification in contract management or legal compliance is a bonus.

Keys / Comments:

Contract Administrators are a more common title for this role. They are common in the construction industry.

They specialize in products and equipment utilized in all materials and people elevating applications. Their North American division is headquartered in Toronto. Projects consist in the design manufacturing and installation of engineered systems. Customer base is located both in US and Canada.
